There is a new type of laser treatment that can improve vision in patients with age related macular degeneration.  Up until now, patients with age related macular degeneration have very limited treatment options.

This new laser technique is called “Corneal laser for macular degeneration”. International clinical trials have shown tremendous success in the last 2.5 years. In some cases, patients went from being legally blind to being able to drive a car. It is truly a medical breakthrough.

The first clinical site in Canada will be at the Bochner Eye Institute. There will be more information about this new technique in the upcoming months as it is being approved by health Canada.
